He holds a B.A. (Hons.) LL.B. from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, and an LL.M. in Criminal Law from Sardar Patel University. His academic background, combined with courtroom experience, forms the foundation of his approach to legal practice.
He regularly appears before various District and Sessions Courts in Ahmedabad and adjoining districts, and also handles matters before the High Court and the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, subject to the nature and jurisdiction of the proceedings.

His father began his career as an advocate practising before the Bhavnagar District Court and subsequently joined the judicial service. He served as a judge and retired as an Additional District & Sessions Judge.
This background provided an early familiarity with the legal profession and the functioning of courts. At the same time, Umang S. Oza has developed his own professional journey through legal education, independent practice, courtroom experience, and continuous engagement with the law.
